You might wonder why StringSavers is already closing the Green Strings shop. Well, in short, I needed to clear the playing field for the good cause…
As a result of all the developments in the past six months, StringSavers now performs both non-commercial and commercial activities. Where I started with setting up a recycling program, I now also sell guitar strings and accessories.
Although I am not a for-profit with the commercial arm, I came aware that I am sending mixed signals with this and that’s not good. So, in order to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest, I am going to separate these two activities.
This means that I place StringSavers in an independent legal form (foundation), which, by the way, is open for new board members to join. I will continue the commercial activities under a different name and as one of the sponsors of StringSavers.
Basically nothing really changes in the recycling program, except that the organizational structure becomes a more open for new participants.
All in all a big job (adjusting the website, setting up the foundation), but I am confident that this way we will pave the way for the further development of our recycling program.
That’s wraps it up for now. Thanks again for your interest. If you’d like to share your thoughts, leave a comment below or send me an email.
Until next time!
